Welcome to Wildfire Resilient Landscapes
Landscapes are more than geography. They are dynamic systems shaped by ecological processes, human activity, infrastructure, and governance. Climate, vegetation, housing patterns, transportation networks, public health conditions, and economic pressures all interact within the same physical space.
When these systems function together, landscapes remain stable and capable of recovery. When they become fragmented or overstressed, risk accumulates — appearing as wildfire severity, heat exposure, infrastructure strain, chronic illness, or community vulnerability.
This work examines landscapes as integrated systems, not isolated features.
