Seed the Change: Development Stage

When you purchase a Native Plant Seed Starter Kit, you’re not just beginning your own resilient garden; you will also be helping us expand restoration efforts across California.

A portion of the proceeds from every kit will go toward donating native grass seeds to projects that need them most. Native grasses play a vital role in wildfire resilience and ecosystem health by:

  • Reducing fuel loads and slowing fire spread
  • Restoring soil health and preventing erosion
  • Providing forage for livestock and habitat for wildlife
  • Conserving water through deep root systems

Through Seed the Change, your purchase directly supports resiliency efforts working to rebuild fire-smart landscapes. Together, we’re planting the foundation for healthier, more resilient ecosystems just one seed at a time.

What may be included in the Kit?

  • Seed packets – Labeled with plant info (scientific/common name, light, water, soil needs).
  • Mini greenhouse starter (hothouse tray) – Plastic dome + inserts for germination.
  • Soil discs/pellets – Easily expandable with water.
  • Educational guide –
    • Step-by-step germination & transplanting instructions
    • Fire-smart landscaping tips (defensible space zones, plant spacing)
    • Benefits of each included species (wildlife support, drought/fuel reduction)
